Dinosaur 04:37
We like to cool off in the water, case for cigarettes - swings around your neck, never gets wet. Clinical depression, spirits in the pines, whiskey all the time, never drink wine. Shady social scape, the atmosphere is so unclear - you rode those rolling hills to find yourself alone up here. No one said you had to die like a dinosaur raise your eyes unto me, cry intentionally everybody thinks they live in their own cold world There's a murderer in line at the drug store there's a solitude you feel when you're far from home No one said you'd be dead at all We can mobilize these shadows, scrape them off the floor make them do our chores, send them off to war. Fighting in the kitchen, smoking on the roof your license plate is loose....it hangs on. There's a rally at the bus stop, they're doing something strange baby, this whole bloated scene is thoroughly deranged. No one said you had to die like a dinosaur raise your eyes unto me, cry intentionally everybody thinks they live in their own cold world There's a murderer in line at the drug store there's a solitude you feel when you're far from home No one said you'd be dead at all Having dinner with your boss tonight I've been working up an appetite Fancy silverware and candlelight tonight Having dinner with your boss tonight I've been working up an appetite Everything is going to be all right I think.

Every day is an outrage of blunder and pain in a circus of shame and remorse and of course there's not much in his fridge, just mustard and figs He's been growing a mustache like the guys at his job, just like Vinnie and Rob and Jose Yeah, OK He's got glasses and masks and toupes Sha na na na na na na it turns me on Sha na na na na na na I love you He's got a powdered wig He's got his pantaloons you've got a corset on you've got a snaggle tooth They say the market's bad They say they got no jobs They say a million doesn't buy you much these days After the ferris wheel you took him to your room it's such a nice surprise just like two strangers in disguise just two strangers in disguise just two strangers in disguise There's a blackout - you've got candles and books and a smoldering look in your eye my oh my and the curtain of night draws tight on the stage of the day The memories sizzle They burn and expand and stick to the pans of your mind you'll be fine you've got fabric and scissors and twine Sha na na na na na na it turns me on Sha na na na na na na I love you He's got a powdered wig He's got his pantaloons you've got a corset on you've got a snaggle tooth They say the market's bad They say they got no jobs They say a million doesn't buy you much these days After the ferris wheel you took him to your room it's such a nice surprise just like two strangers in disguise just two strangers in disguise just two strangers in disguise

Lit up on Sunday your letter came late I'm a cold, cold lover leave the light on I whack the weeds I rake the leaves I rub the sleep out of my eyes But I'm alive and well Thanks for your concern your empty words of consolation undeserved You lead me on, it keeps me going though you tell me things I wouldn't want to know You got the devil in your your steady slender arms the lights are beautiful the people cheer you on his gaze controls you in a silent silent way If you seek me out in times of doubt and frustration you wont have to cast your pretty pearls before swine Horrors loom see you in your room with another (oh no!) but all can be forgiven over time My little zebra there's a tiger on your six oh, look at you red riding hood the thought just makes me sick I see it now face pressed up against the window glass every letter brings the fear that it's your last You've been running away I've been driving around turn the radio on In the distance I see someone familiar to me I turn my head and you're gone You got the devil in your your steady slender arms the lights are beautiful the people cheer you on his gaze controls you in a silent silent way When the grass grows high and the creek runs dry in the summer you wont have to cast your pretty pearls before swine Horrors loom see you in your room with another (oh no!) but all can be forgiven over time

Calm the Dog 04:18
As the cream seeps in your coffee it seems the world's been growing pale do you want to stay alive? stay alive you know you might not survive Because it takes a dog to break a dog only your body can calm the dog calm the dog calm the dog only your body can calm the dog His eyes glow bright like cannon fire see the cage close cold in the pale moonlight I'm a man, I'm a man I'm a dog (a real dog) I feel the circle close, I flare my nostrils wide Because it takes a dog to break a dog only your body can calm the dog calm the dog calm the dog only your body can calm the dog The dog is the father of the man but the child, yeah the child is the master my hands running through your tangled coat I can feel feel my heart growing faster It's the blood that we share between this gristle and hair we collide in mid air (white lightning!) we lock into place as your murderous gaze meets my own Can you smell it? No I can't, I got no fear for you my friend man, you're wearing me out can I lay right down put my trust in you? Only your body can calm the dog

Hollow Earth 06:08
I left your wake dried-up tears and mucus on my face I walked away crumpled suit and highball can't recall the fellow's name He said I'm no dealer, aint no pimp but you look fucked and I was thinking I could change your luck He bought a round took me to a back room there was sawdust on the ground a gated elevator all run down and painted brown and white he popped the lock said look inside there's just one button that don't say nothing just one button that don't say nothing at all Down into your hollow earth I go to neglected realms that lie below into your darkness I descend again and again and again Are you picking up what I'm putting down? (I feel you) 20,000 leagues beneath the ground I guess I could have left my wallet home my eyes have gotten used to this twilight tone am I alone? am I alone? The magazines are all from a different age (who left them?) shadows growing grim on a glossy page (forget them) settle where these strange black pumpkins grow among these trilobites I search for signs of life am I alone? am I alone? Withered, mummified and stiff they stick you in a monolith to serve the pharaoh when he's gone over in that great beyond Endless chambers echoing all sound Endless chambers echoing all sound Modified, groomed and shaved pyramids all built by slaves kerosene lamps all aglow illuminate the master's throne He sits and glowers ill at peace commanding us with hollow eyes, silver lips, crystal teeth Down into your hollow earth I go to neglected realms that lie below into your darkness I descend again and again and again

Gina 05:04
As the cream seeps in your coffee it seems the world's been growing pale don't want to live a lie Gina, I'm a man of no account I'm far too dumb to love you I click my seat belt on, but I wouldn't care to survive There is nothing in this world but supermarket checkout girls they're dancing in the tiki lights they're drinking beer from cans tonight it's on So young and so helpless feels like suicide could be just right I gave it my all, I'm sorry ragged old badminton net you just keep hanging on So young and so helpless feels like feels like feels like suicide The dream is overloaded and the liquor store is closed I can't get inside The clicking of a price tag sticker gun florescent lights will guide you I keep my options open wide I never decide There is nothing in this world but supermarket checkout girls they're dancing in the tiki lights they're drinking beer from cans tonight it's on So young and so helpless feels like suicide could be just right I gave it my all, I'm sorry ragged old badminton net you just keep hanging on So young and so helpless feels like feels like feels like suicide There is a man that I want to be a person of wealth and integrity the blades of the grass and the leaves on the tress feel the pain I'll fester and rot in your memory Gina your name sounds like shit to me We stand at a loss as these trails of exhaust streak the sky Win for life ticket Milk carton, tabloids Shopping cart drag race freezer pop headache Win for life win for life win for life win for life The bus picks up passengers and runs all the way up Main street and out of my view. Beyond the rows of storefronts and power lines, smokestacks send up little black puffs - fluffy cancer clouds that dissolve into a gray miasma, hanging foreboding and grim above the urban mishmash of brick houses, poorly planned septic systems, two car garages, gas stations, overweight police officers, pregnant chain-smoking teenagers, self-made millionaire windsurfers. A little further out, there are barns and silos, and of course, the old pharmaceutical factory. Every morning the parking lot fills up with Jeep Cherokees, rusty old Ford Tauruses, and some Japanese cars, too. At exactly 8 o'clock the bell rings, and everybody lines up to insert their punch card. Ka-chunk! You're right on time.
